About Combat Warriors

Founder and President Bill Warren officially started Combat Warriors in 2015.  Combat Warriors is a fire that was sparked by volunteers who support our Warriors both emotionally and financially.  The spark started with Steve Scarboro who solicited funds from Bill Warren for an annual deer hunt for a group of Warriors in Wisconsin.  Those events held there fanned a flame for Bill’s burning support of our Warriors.

After three years of donating to the Wisconsin events, Steve and Bill came up with the idea to host a duck hunt for the Warriors at their hunting camp in Hyde County, NC.  Their very first event was in 2011; five Warriors attended and the event was outstanding.  Everyone including many citizens in the Engelhard area fell in love with these Warriors.  Their small group of initial supporters, Wayne Decker of Big Rock Sports, Bill Wallace, Charles Williford, Steve Scarboro, and Bill Warren all agreed they had to grow this into something more.  The five of them formed a Board of Directors and established a non-profit (501c3) corporation titled Combat Warriors, Inc.  Today they host over 18 events annually with approximately 350 warriors participating.  Their Board of Directors has grown to 11 directors.

Their creed, “Combat Warriors Will Always Have An All-Volunteer Board of Directors Who Will Receive No Salary Nor Compensation So That Our Warriors Are the Ones Who Benefit From Donations We Receive.”
